Μίνι σειρά ντοκιμαντέρ τριών επεισοδίων με θέμα τον Απελευθερωτικό Αγώνα της ΕΟΚΑ 1955-59, παραγωγή του Συμβουλίου Ιστορικής Μνήμης Αγώνα ΕΟΚΑ 55-59.
 

Περιληψη

Στο πρώτο επεισόδιο της σειράς εξετάζεται η περίοδος από το 1950 μέχρι το 1955. Παρουσιάζονται τα γεγονότα από το Ενωτικό Δημοψήφισμα του 1950 μέχρι την έναρξη του αγώνα. Έπειτα από τη σωρεία αρνήσεων των αγγλικών κυβερνήσεων και τις αθετήσεις συμφωνιών για την Ένωση με την Ελλάδα η μοίρα της ενωτικής πορείας άνηκε πια σε ηγετικές μορφές Ελλάδας και Κύπρου, τον Αρχιεπίσκοπο Μακάριο και το στρατηγό Γεώργιο Γρίβα. Έπειτα από το ηχηρό ναι για την ένωση της Κύπρου με την Ελλάδα του δημοψηφίσματος, αλλά και μέσα από τον επίμονο λόγο του Μακάριου από την εκκλησία της Φανερωμένης, ο αγώνας και ο Απελευθερωτικός Αγώνας σε πολιτικό και στρατιωτικό επίπεδο ξεκινά το 1954. Οι αγώνες, οι αιματοχυσίες, η κατασκοπία αλλά και η αγγλική παρουσία και αντεπίθεση ήταν πια καθημερινό ζήτημα. Δίδεται ιδιαίτερη μνεία στα γεγονότα της Λύσης αλλά και στην παρουσία του Γρηγόρη Αυξεντίου. Η ΕΟΚΑ με Μακάριο και Γρίβα την 1η Απριλίου στη Μονή Κύκκου ξεκινά και επισήμως τον αγώνα για την Ένωση με διαδηλώσεις, τρομακτικές αντεπιθέσεις και προκηρύξεις για την ένωση του ελληνισμού και την αποτίναξη του αγγλικού στρατού. Φοιτητές, αντάρτες, Κύπριοι και όχι μόνο πολίτες σε βουνά και δρόμους, πόλεις και χωριά, ένας ανταρτοπόλεμος και ένας κύκλος επιθέσεων με τη συγκατάθεση του Μακαρίου είναι γεγονός κατά των Άγγλων με αυτοσκοπό την Ένωση. 15/11/1955 ο Γρίβας με σύνθημα Προς τη Νίκη από τη μια και η τακτική εναντίον του από το Χέρντιν για συλλήψεις, εκτελέσεις και καταπιέσεις είναι γεγονός και η μάχη μεταξύ τους επακόλουθο, με τον Αυξεντίου να πρωταγωνιστεί στη σωτηρία του στρατού και στη σωτηρία τους και με την προδοσία στο σκηνικό τους. Ο θάνατος των πρώτων ανταρτών κλείνει τον πρώτο κύκλο των εξιστορήσεων για την ΕΟΚΑ.
